dQuery v2.52 Features and Fixes

New Features

• dQuery now has an EasyStart help system
• EasyStart can be opened via a new toolbar button and via a new option on the View menu
• QAID: 5279 - The One-Click Windows Application now has an included help file.
• QAID: 5280 – The treeview Explorers on the toolPanel now resize to fit as you increase the width of the toolPanel
• New View menu option: Restore Default Tool Panels opens the Tool Panel at the default location and centers the Design Surface and Data Area
• The dQuery Toolbar now respects .ini settings saved when you exit dQuery.
• The Database Explorer tree now has a new fly-out dialog to handle databases with long table lists (more than 200 tables)
• There is a new DataModule Wizard that can be launched from the new EasyStart dialog. and allows open, new and open recent.
• dQuery now has a much more stable and flexible naming system so that tables of all types display the most appropriate part of their name as the name of the Query

GUI Enhancements and Fixes

• QAID: 5281 - Improved readability of Wizard button icons.
• QAID: 5282 - Single Table View, Multi Table View, and Report View buttons have been modified to look like Win XP buttons
• QAID: 4997 - Updated dQuery's expression builder to automatically adjust the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the Value combobox to match the size of the field selected in the Field combobox.
• QAID: 4997 - Also updated dQuery's Filter Wizard to automatically adjust the maximum number of characters that can be entered into the entry fields for the Fast Indexed Filter.
• QAID: 5289 - Corrected treeview heights and data grid heights when maximizing dQuery form so that bottom of treeview's and grids do not end up below bottom of frame window.
• Design surface right click menu options now invoke Wizards instead of older style dialogs where possible.

Deploy Wizard

• QAID: 5278 - The Deploy Wizard no longer allows an empty Datamodule to be deployed. The Deploy Wizard no longer shows a Program Alert when deploying a Datamodule that does not have any saved reports.

Export Wizard

• QAID: 5122 – All dQuery exports now export all decimal places for numeric values instead of the value in the SET DECIMAL setting.
• QAID: 5227 - A spelling mistake in the Export Wizard was fixed (WIzard -> Wizard).

Calculate Dialog

• Display fixed in Calculate Dialog
• Calculate dialog now enables and disables "Saved Expression buttons correctly
• Fixed “Path Not Found” error that occurred when saving calculation results to a file and the file path contained a space.

Single-Table View

• Fixed problem in dQuery 2.5.1 that caused grid to display an icon for memo or text blob fields instead of the actual text.

Multi-Table View

• QAID: 5275 – Corrected parent/child rowset navigation when scrolling using the Up Arrow in the grid. Reports and Report Designer
• dQuery no longer causes an "undefined 'this'" error when creating a new report.
• QAID: 8 – When undoing a Move operation for a group of objects, Undo will now correctly reset all of the objects moved instead of just the first object.
• QAID: 5214 – When undoing an Alignment operation for a group of objects, Undo will now correctly reset all of the aligned objects in the group instead of just the first object.
• Fixed problem where using the Save Current Report As… option on the Report View caused the Next Page and Prior Page toolbar and menu options to become disabled.

Table Encryption

• QAID: 5125 – When encrypting a dBASE table that contains data, the data will no longer become corrupted. When encrypting a dBASE Level 7 Table containing Referential Integrity (RI) rules, the RI rules are now copied into the encrypted table in most cases. When encrypting a dBASE table, the source table is renamed. The table renaming is now done in a way that allows the renamed table to be kept intact with its indexes so that it can be opened in dQuery without triggering a “Cannot Open MDX” error.

Help File/Menu

• One-Click Windows Application now is deployed with its own help file
• dQuery help file has additional help topics for:

  • Sort Table
    
• dQuery help file now has a new category of help topics titled: dQuery Object Reference.
• Removed "How to use help" from Help Menu
• QAID: 5272 – Fixed Variable undefined: THIS error when clicking on Help | About menu option when the Report Designer is opened.
• Menu option Help | Get Updates from the Web - now links to the Updates and Fixes page on www.dquery.com

One-Click Windows Application

• Fixed "getProductName()" displaying on finish page of wizard

Search Wizard

• QAID: 5302 - Fixed Standard Search option in the "Search For One Specific Record" Wizard. Previously, after successfully finding a row, the grid was not refreshed until the user did something that forced the grid to repaint.

Stored Procedures

• QAID: 5291 - Updated dQuery StoredProc GUI objects to use blue/gray color scheme instead of old yellow/gray color scheme.
• The right-click popup menu on the Stored Procedure now has correct menu options when in the Business User edition of dQuery.
• Corrected spelling in Stored Procedure Wizard. Title on error stated: No Stpred Procedure Available. Fixed to "Stored"

Other Fixes

• QAID: 5205 – Fixed error dialog that displays if a table is opened but its index file or memo file are missing.
• QAID: 5213 – Fixed processing of Ctrl+F4 so that it can be used to close the dQuery form window as indicated via the shortcut keys displayed on the File menu.
• QAID: 5023 – Fixed creation of a Non-Indexed Link between tables to prevent Database Engine Error: Type mismatch in expression.
• In the View Menu, resolved conflict between two options having the same Alt-F hotkey assignment.
• Create Session dialog - changed "dB2K" to "dQuery"
• QAID: 5248 - Attempting to add a new access group in the dQWebServerSideComponents no longer yields an error
